There is so much to see and do in the Lake District the question is where to start? Well one of the benefits of staying at Storrs Hall is our central location makes it easy for you to visit a whole host of attractions. So lets start with Bowness-on-Windermere.
The closest attraction, Blackwell Arts and Crafts House, is just 5 minutes drive from Storrs Hall. Then in the village of Bowness-on-Windermere you will find Windermere Lake Cruises, they depart from the Pier for Ambleside and Lakeside. In the heart of the village you will also find the World of Beatrix Potter, which is a wonderful family attraction. If you travel a bit further, and take the car ferry across the lake, you can visit Hill Top the former home of Beatrix Potter.
Windermere Lake Cruises link up with a steam railway at Lakeside. You can if you wish drive to the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway by following the A592 south from Storrs, then join the A59O for Haverthwaite (in the direction of Ulverston). If you do drive call in at the Lakeland Motor Museum as they have a fantastic selection of heritage vehicles for you to enjoy.
