Winter can be a magical time of year at Storrs Hall. Crisp frosty days, stunning sunsets and roaring log fires in the hotel create an enchanted atmosphere.
Here are our suggestions for creating a unique winter theme for your wedding;
1. Winter Warmer Drinks
A twist on the traditional summer themed Pimms and Winter tipple of mulled wine. Delight your guests with a winter Pimms, which is a mixture of Pimms, Brandy, Ginger, Apple and Cinnamon. Alternatively treat your guests to a decedent hot chocolate served on our beautiful terrace whilst you take in the winter scenery – don’t forget blankets for your guests maybe to match your colour theme
instead of a traditional wedding cake have a Ginger Bread House complete with a bride and groom to complete your winter theme. As an alternative to traditional canapés serve miniature toffee apples or treat your guests to some toasted chestnuts
3. Sun Set
The beautiful winter sun sets at Storrs Hall create stunning photo opportunities. Light the way to our pavilion with lanterns, where you and guest can enjoy a magical display of colour as the sun sets over the lake. Maybe take inspirations from the autumnal and sun set colours for your theming
If you prefer natural decorations our rotunda is the perfect place for garlands. Why not carry this theme through by using pine cone name places? They are a delightful alternative to the norm and are easy to create. Tall vases with dehydrated oranges (beautiful scent as well as pretty decorations) and twisted willow entwined with fairy lights create a stunning display
5. Be prepared for the weather
Embrace the unpredictable weather with a bridal umbrella, maybe to match with you bridesmaid dresses or colour theming. White wellies or even high heeled wellies to keep your bespoke dress at the correct length.
