Tempting as it is to sit in the lounge, or to lie on the lawn, or to gaze out over the Lake, we feel sure that you’ll eventually venture out beyond the magnificent grounds of Storrs Hall. And what choice you have, come rain or shine.
There’s beauty to spare round here – not just lakes, forests and hills, but castles, historic houses, gardens, steam trains and trails. So allow yourself plenty of time to explore the area as widely as possible.
Just be aware that Trip Advisor lists 121 parks, 101 sights and landmarks, 156 activities, 39 museums, 43 boat tours and water sports in the Lake District. Seriously. However long you were planning to stay … plan to stay a bit longer!
Take a look at our suggestions for Sunny Days and for Rainy Days – there are Lake District attractions for the family, for the kids or for romantic couples in our listings – sailing, cruising and rowing, cycling and golf, hot-air balloons and helicopters.
Just ask one of our friendly team, who will be happy to make suggestions for the best days out in Bowness, Windermere and the National Park.
