“I first worked in the north west nearly 30 years ago, and have been coming to the Lake District since I was a child as my grandparents lived in Cumbria, so I think I'm qualified to describe myself as a 'local' by now! It's such a friendly and beautiful area, and we are very lucky to have such a beautiful spot on the shore of Windermere.”
Ross is a third-generation chef – his grandfather and mother were both head chefs, and he says that he fell in love with the buzz and atmosphere of the kitchen as soon as he entered the ‘family profession’ aged 16. “I like to keep our menus regularly updated, so I am always on the lookout for new ideas, techniques and ways to showcase the best of the wonderful local Cumbrian produce.”
